UW Bill & Melinda Gates Computer Science and Engineering Center

This week Governor Inslee celebrated the
opening of UW’s new Bill and Melinda Gates Center for Computer Science
and Engineering, Washington’s next step in leading the
way on clean energy in computer science. This is so much beyond the world of
computing, because the world of computing feeds every single thing that we’re
growing our economy in our society on now. Creating great talent which
creates great companies which are successful and then give back
could reenergize that incredible ecosystem and this state is very lucky
that that’s going on here in such a strong way. The Paul G. Allen school
symbolizes what can happen when young people pursue their dreams. The state contributed $32.5 million
to help fund the new center which will double capacity for
STEM students at the university.
