I’m a tech person. I’m passionate about
technology…that’s what’s changing the world and I like to be on top of it. But
I don’t want to be a tech person forever. I always wanted to move into management. Having tech experience with a business degree can get me the program management
jobs that I want during my time at Oregon State. I also had the opportunity
to intern at a non-profit in India. The nonprofit that I work for sets up study
centers in different parts of the city. They have over 2,000 students that they
educate every day and feed. Internships are the best form of learning I feel
because it prepares you best for what’s gonna come after you are done with your
degree. I chose Oregon State University because
Oregon State treats everyone the same. Online students are not treated
differently than in-class students. Doing my degree from India was a little
challenging but also really fun, mainly because the business faculty did
a great job. My professors made simulations and gave examples from the
real world. That really helped me, and especially being someone who worked
outside and then came back to study I was able to approach learning not just
to pass a class but also because I really wanted to enlighten myself
and learn something that I could practice later in life. It was always my dream to
have a college degree. Definitely a proud moment for me and my
family.
