How to Replace the Right Speakers Before you begin: Remove the base enclosure, battery, touchpad, and fingerprint reader. Removal Disconnect the right speaker cable from its connector on the system board. Peel off the retention tape that secures the right speaker cable to the M.2 solid state drive. Remove the right speaker cable from the retention tape and routing channel that secures it to the left speaker and top cover. Remove the two 3 mm P0 Phillips-head screws that secure the right speakers to the top cover. Lift the right speakers off of the alignment pins on the top cover and remove. Replacement NOTE: The right speakers have three rubber grommets, which fit over the speakers’ alignment pins on the top cover. Gently push the right speakers down onto their alignment pins on the top cover. Replace the two 3 mm P0 Phillips-head screws that secure the right speakers to the top cover. Route the right speaker cable through its routing tabs and routing channel, and reattach the retention tape that secures the right speaker cable to the top cover and left speakers. Reconnect the right speaker cable to its connector on the system board. Reattach the retention tape that secures the right speaker cable to the M.2 solid state drive.
