How to Replace the M.2 Solid State Drive Before you begin: Remove the base enclosure and battery. Removal Peel away the tape that secures the right speaker cable to the mylar that covers the solid state drive. Peel away and lift up the mylar shielding that covers the solid state drive. Remove the one P1 Phillips-head screw that secures the solid state drive to the system board. Gently pull the solid state drive out of its slot on the system board and remove. Replacement Align the notch on the solid state drive with the key in the solid state drive slot. Gently insert the solid state drive into the solid state drive slot. Replace the one P1 Phillips-head screw that secures the solid state drive to the system board. Replace the mylar shielding over the solid state drive module. Reattach the tape that secures the right speaker cable to the mylar that covers the solid state drive.
