Enroll now! Computer Languages Diploma and Rural Forge Scholarship

With our partnership with the computer
languages piece and the Rural Forge, we’re able to show students that you
don’t have to move to Silicon Valley, you can actually stay right here and do what
you’re passionate about. The Computer Languages Program is a new program for us, so we’re super excited to offer it. We’ll be offering it with a morning and
afternoon option. We have opportunities for dual-credit high school students to
do it at no cost to them, and we also have the ability to put in more
traditional college students or older adults as well into the same classes. We have some new employers in the area.
There’s a new forge institute in Jefferson that’s looking to hire around
30 to 40 computer programmers. They’re looking to have them start at 55 to 60 thousand dollars a year, which is a great starting wage for our community and
we’re very excited about that, and with a few years, salaries climb pretty quickly
in that field, and so there’ll be some great employment options for them going
forward. Currently, the scholarship is open to
what we’re calling the Lincoln Corridor. It’s really the area surrounding Jefferson
and all the small towns in between from Carroll to Boone to Perry. We meet with
young people all the time and one thing that we want them to know is that they
can participate in a lot of different industries living in rural America and
living in rural Iowa.
