Dell G5 5587 Keyboard Replacement

Hello everyone and Welcome to HowFixit. In this video I gonna show you how to replace
keyboard in an Dell G5 5587 laptop To disassemble Dell G5 you will need next
tools: Phillips 1 screwdriver
Plastic tool Thermal paste
Antistatic brush Tweezers
In the description, I’ll leave links where to buy all the necessary tools. I also recommend using a magnetic mat in disassembly
process and laying out each screw step-by-step during disassembly, which is especially useful
in the case of the Dell G5 5587. This laptop has a lot of screws of different
sizes and it is very important not to confuse them during assembly. Turn the laptop over and remove screw on the
bottom cover. Next, take a plastic tool and begin to open
the cover. Disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard. Remove the battery, hard drive and m2 ssd. Now disconnect all the cables. Let’s begin to the removal of the upper panel
on the case. This panel is quite rigidly fixed to the case,
so you will have to make a little effort to remove this panel. Now remove all the screws on the case. Again take a plastic tool and open the case,
separating the bottom cover from the cover with the keyboard. Remove the cover with the motherboard, it
is no longer needed, and move on to replacing the keyboard. The hinges of the laptop hold the keyboard,
so remove the screws on the hinges and lift them up. Now the cover with the keyboard is free and
you can move on to the next step. Remove all the screws on the metal panel that
holds the keyboard. The metal panel is removed and now you can
remove the keyboard. By this part number PK131QP2B00 and this DP/N
03R0JR you can find a compatible keyboard for your Dell G5 5587, and in the description
under the video I left links where to buy a keyboard for a Dell G5 laptop. Install a new keyboard, install the metal
panel on top and tighten all the screws. Now that the laptop is assembled, let’s
check how the keyboard works, in the description I left a link to a page where you can test
the keyboard by pressing each button. Well, that’s all, you were on HowFixit and
see you guys next time!
