♪ [music] ♪ Hello, I’m Tommy Gillanders. And today,
we’re here at World Wide Stereo doing a product tour of Audioengine’s
latest A5+ with wireless. ♪ [music] ♪ All right. So what we got here…
box in a box. So we’ve got the remote and antenna, and the antenna is going to be used for
Bluetooth, which this is what sets these speakers aside from the already
very popular A5+, which is now called the Classic. ♪ [music] ♪ What’s in here? I like that they keep them
in these soft cloth bags so that the finish stays nice. ♪ [music] ♪ Now that we’ve got them out of the box,
I’ve got them set up here so you can see the backside. This is the left speaker.
It actually has the amplifier and all of your connections in it.
There’s two inputs, you’ve got a 3.5-millimeter jack analog audio input,
and you also have a full-size RCA connection as well. These are common.
They share that single input, but you have two different-sized
connectors for devices. For instance, 3.5’s typically found on a, you know,
laptop computer, the full-size RCA would be found on your traditional, like,
CD player or your turntable. There’s also an output,
so you could cascade that to another device if you needed to.
And you’ve got your power cord back here. And this is, little guy here,
is for the antenna connection. Over here, we’ve got the accessory bag that has all
the supplied cables that you need. Here’s your 3.5 to 3.5-millimeter jack,
your full-size RCA to RCA, and this is the speaker wire. So,
as I said before, the amplifier’s in the left speaker. This speaker wire is how you
connect the passive speaker to the main amplifier. Right,
now that we showed you the back, I’ve turned them around so you can see the
front of the speakers. You can see, here you’ve got your volume control in the
front and you see your remote here. This is your indicator for the remote.
So as I push the volume down, you can tell by the indicator that the
remote is working. Comes with the supplied battery. It’s a CR2025
watch-style battery. These are available in three finishes,
the satin black is shown here, high-gloss white, and bamboo.
What sets these apart from the A5+ Classic is the built-in 24-bit Wireless DAC using
Bluetooth connection. It uses aptX Bluetooth,
which unlike traditional Bluetooth, it takes the files, makes them smaller,
so you can pass through up to 24 bits of wireless high-definition music.
I also wanted to mention that Audioengine has been in the industry for 36 years and
they pride themselves on building a high-quality product,
that’s very easy to set up. A question we’re often asked is the size
difference between the different models. Here, we have the new A5+ Wireless right
next to the A5+ Classic. And you can see that they’re the same
footprint and occupy the same amount of space on your desk,
but you will notice up front, is they moved the tweeter to the center of
the speaker versus being like more of a near-field monitor, so it’s going to give
you a wider soundstage from when you’re listening to music. Maybe you have this
set up on your bookshelf as a powered stereo system. And over here,
we’ve got the A2, which is their smallest in the line. All right. Now, I’d like to
show you how easy it is to set up the A5+ Wireless Audioengine Speakers.
First thing you want to do is make sure they’re in the on position by flipping the
toggle switch in the back, and we’ll go over here to the iPad,
turn on our Bluetooth, and you can see already,
it didn’t even have to press a pairing button, they show up
automatically. In case you don’t see it, all you have to do on the back is push the
pair button until you see it show up here in your list. All right.
It shows that I’m connected. ♪ [music] ♪ In addition to hooking up your favorite
Bluetooth device to the new A5+ Wireless Speakers, you can hook up your
favorite turntable using the available analog input on the back of the speaker.
Keep in mind, you need to have a phono preamp, either a turntable with one
enabled built-in or an outboard one. Well, that concludes today’s video on the
Audioengine A5+ Wireless Speakers. They’re available today in both of our
showrooms here in Ardmore and our store in Montgomeryville, also available online
at worldwidestereo.com. Don’t forget to subscribe, like,
